Position: OT/DT Height: 6-3 Weight: 285 H.S. Coach: Frank Geske College: Montana State University Matthew was a part of two State Championship football teams at the 4A level for the Spartans and was a runner-up at the 5A as a senior in 2010. As a junior he was named the 4A Defensive Player of the Year for Marist. As a senior he was named the Midwestern League Most Valuable player, was a 1st Team All-League and All-State Lineman on both sides of the ball, and was nominated for Johnny Carpenter Award for the 6A/5A Athlete of the Year. He was also named the Old Spice Player of the Year for the State of Oregon. In the classroom, he was a National Honor Societies member winning Outstanding Student Awards in 2009 in Biology, and American Literature in 2010. He was also a member of the Principals Honor Roll maintaining a 3.9 gpa throughout high school. Matthew accepted a full scholarship to play football at Montana State University in the fall where he plans to pursue an Engineering degree in the Honors College. |
