* Oak Hill Academy, the most storied high school basketball team in the nation, returns to the LSI for the 5th time. They have won the event the previous 4 times, and return with 3rd ranked team in the nation. They have won 16 straight games at the LSI.
* Coach Smith has compiled a record of 978-79 and has won 7 National Championships since being at Oak Hill. During this time almost 150 Oak Hill players received Division 1 scholarships.
* Current players in the NBA from Oak Hill are Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Tywon Lawson, Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, Marcus Williams, Stephen Jackson, Steve Blake, DeSagana Diop and Jerry Stackhouse. Kevin Durant also played for Oak Hill in the LSI in 2004. Anthony and Jennings were both named MVPs of the tournament in 2000 and 2006.
* Roscoe Smith and Doron Lamb are two highly recruited players being sought after by D-1 powerhouses. They also feature Juwan Staten (Dayton) at point guard and Baye Moussa Keita (Syracuse) down low.
* Oak Hill player Keith Hornsby is the son of 4 time grammy award winner Bruce Hornsby.
