The Knights are one of the top programs in the state of New York having won 4 New York Public School Championships since 2000.
Mt. Vernon returns 11 players from last year’s team, including 4 starters. Sherrod Wright averaged 24 pts per game and Jabarie Harris is one of the best sophomores in the nation.
Head Coach Bob Cimmino is entering his 15th season with a record of 304-53. During his time the Knights have won 9 Section Titles and were the NY State Federation Champions three times.
Ben Gordon of the Chicago Bulls played basketball at Mt. Vernon.
