The Jefferson Democrats are led by senior Terrence Jones the
2008-09 5A player of the year in Oregon and a top 15 recruit
nationally. Jones who has not yet committed is still considering
Kentucky, Oklahoma, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.
The versatile 6-9 Jones is joined by transfer Stephen Madison from
(Prairie HS) and returnees Antoine Hosley, Noah Kone Nelson,
A. J. Johnson, Andrew Roundtree, Michael Mangum Jr. and Tamir Polk. The Demos look to improve upon last season’s 20-6 record and achieve the rare accomplishment of becoming a three-time repeat state champion at the 5A level. The schedule includes
several highly regarded teams including Long Beach Poly (Long
Beach, CA) Castlemont (Oakland, CA) Kentwood (Seattle, WA),
and defending Washington 4A state champion Federal Way.
Coach Pat Strickland has high expectations for his current team as he enters his 2nd year as head coach, and 12th season with the program.
