* Mike Bethea has coached 14 years at Rainier Beach with a record of 338- 91. During this time, they have won 4 State Championships, 9 City Championships and 9 District Championships. He has coached 4 NBA players and 32 Division 1 players including Jamal Crawford (Atlanta Hawks), Nate Robinson (N.Y. Knicks) and Terrence Williams (N.J. Nets).

* Rainier Beach is a fast team that is very athletic and can go 12 deep into their rotation.

* Hakeem and Kadeem Stewart are the 2nd set of Stewart twins to play at Rainier Beach. Older brothers Lodrick and Rodrick Played for the 2002 Championship team with Nate Robinson (N.Y. Knicks) that finished 5th in the country. Lodrick and Rodrick lead the 2003 team to 2nd of back to back state championships. The 2003 team was also ranked #1 in the country before falling to Oak Hill Academy in Houston. The starting line up was Lodrick Stewart (USC), Rodrick Stewart (Kansas), C.J. Giles (Kansas/ Oregon State), Josh Love (Baylor) and Terrence Williams (Louisville/N.J. Nets).
